In Year 6 the girls spend four days in France, attending a French school in the mornings and visiting other attractions during the afternoons.

There is also a bi-annual ski trip during the Easter holidays open to pupils and their parents.

Guest Tutors

We regularly invite visitors into the school to work with the girls and to enhance the learning process.  Our pupils love meeting new visitors, hearing their stories and getting involved in their workshops. Here are a few of our recent visitors:

Nicholas McCarthy - After searching for a piano piece on the internet Emily, in Year 6, came across Nicholas McCarthy. As an aspiring young musician, Emily knew it would be an inspiration for her and her friends to hear Nicholas' story.

"I recently sent an email to the famous one handed pianist Nicholas McCarthy. Nicholas was born with one hand and started to play the piano when he has 14. He’s now only in his 20’s and is a mesmerising concert pianist who agreed to come to Kent College today."

Reporter Charlie Rose, from BBC South East, spent time filming the event, which was featured on the news.

This event builds upon Kent College's growth mindset ethos and the concept of triumph over adversity.

Martin James - Illustrator, who held fun and interactive drawing workshops with Early Years and KS1

Chris Haughton - Children's story book writer and fairtrade artist.

Oliver Budd - Mosaic artist who visited to tell students more about mosaics and to work with them on the new swimming pool mosaic funded by the Aultmore and Senior school Parents Associations

Michaela Morgan  - Author who visited during Children's Book Week

Charlie Wilson - Story teller

Brian Moses – Well-known author and poet, Brian Moses, visited to do a Writer’s Trail in the school grounds, with the girls in Years 1-6. He used the natural environment to inspire the girls to write poems eg a frog in the pond, the trees, butterflies and sheep.

Cas Holmes – A professional artist who uses paper and locally found resources to create artwork. She has visited on four occasions and worked with all age groups. The girls worked on a variety of projects including outdoor art using natural resources, paper windows and paper costumes.

Tudor Workshop – A visiting Tudor Workshop visits to do drama workshops with pupils which support their studies on the Tudors

Theatre Performances – Previous events have included 'Horrible Histories' a French theatre company, Compagnie Tête à Tête, and a performance of Starlight the Dreamcatcher.
