From London/NorthFrom London/NorthFrom the M25 take junction 5, A21 (south) towards Sevenoaks and Hastings. After passing Tonbridge, there are several signposts as you near Kent College. The fastest route is via the first signpost, which will take you on to Half Moon Lane. At the end of this road please turn right towards Kent College. Alternatively, you can stay on the A21 and take the second turning past the Kent and Sussex Hospital. At the end of Tonbridge Road, at the traffic lights, turn left onto the A228 and take the first exit on the left on to Old Church Road. Kent College is at the end of this road. When travelling from central London the journey should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes but we advise you to allow longer at peak travel times. From Hastings/SouthIf approaching from Hastings and the south, travel on the A21 (north). At the junction with the A228/A264 branch left (signposted Maidstone) then at the roundabout take the first exit and at the next roundabout take the second exit for the A228. Stay on the A228 going straight through the traffic lights (do not take the turn into Pembury village) and continue for about half a mile. Just before you reach the pedestrian bridge overhead take the left turning into Old Church Road and Kent College is at the top. There is a school sign indicating that the Prep School is to the right and the Senior School is straight ahead. From Hastings the journey is about 26 miles and you should allow about 40 minutes, plus extra time during peak travel times. From Maidstone/WateringburyFrom Maidstone follow signs to West Malling A20/Tonbridge A26. When planning your route to the school the online AA route planner provides step by step directions: Kent College Transport ServiceThe Kent College Transport Service offers flexibility, allowing families to book regularly in advance or on an occasional basis. We aim to help reduce the stress of the school run by offering a service that accommodates the needs of our day pupils and their families. There are 11 different routes across Kent which are assessed every academic year to ensure we cater to the needs of all pupils and their families. There are many social benefits in using this service; it enables girls to meet others from their local area and across year groups. Many girls find that using our safe and reliable service instils greater confidence and independence. Every year the transport service has an increase in demand and the school caters for as many girls as possible. Girls can use the service from Year 1 and above. In the Senior School 57% of all day pupils use the service and in the Prep School 10% of day pupils use the service. MinibusesWe currently have a fleet of six minibuses and one people carrier, with experienced and qualified minibus drivers who provide a reliable and consistent service. Depending on where the route begins, drivers will aim to collect your daughter ensuring that they are at school by 8.25am. For return journeys, drivers depart from the school at 4.15pm. Late Bus ServiceThe School operates two late buses, one to Edenbridge and the other to Hawkhurst, which run from Monday to Thursday. Late buses do not run on the first and last week of term. Girls must sign the list in the Hawkwell corridor (outside the Bursary) to reserve a place, places are strictly limited. Daily Transport SchedulePlease note that routes may be vary over time as the population of the school changes. Destinations will be amended according to demand. Return journeys leave Kent College at 4.15pm. For further details and to enquire about costs, please contact Mr Mike Phyall on phyallm@kentcollege.kent.sch.uk
